Inside
- A20 Pro chip, the same as iPhone 18 Pro, cooled by a vapor chamber. Apple says it sustains up to 35 percent more performance than iPhone 17 Pro.1
- Battery split across two cells: up to 24 hours of typical use, 31 hours of video on the inner display or 44 hours on the outer one. Charges to 50 percent in about 20 minutes with a 60W adapter.2
- Rear cameras: 48MP Fusion Main with a 2x optical-quality zoom, and 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide.2
- Touch ID in the side button, so unlocking works the same open or closed.1
- eSIM only, with no physical SIM tray. 5G including mmWave, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and USB-C at up to 10Gb/s.2
What changes in iOS
iPhone Duo ships with iOS 27.1, which adds a few things only this phone does:1
- The Dock, Lock Screen controls and app toolbars move to the side, leaving more height for content.
- Open, the Home Screen shows two pages at once, with widgets in a scrolling column on the left.
- The Dynamic Island sits vertically on the side of both displays.
- Split View puts two apps side by side, a first on iPhone. You can also open two windows of the same app.
- StandBy works on either display, even when the phone isn’t charging.
- The outer display can face the people you’re photographing, so they see the shot before you take it, and it can show a cartoon to get a child to look at the camera.
Will your apps work?
Every iPhone app runs on iPhone Duo, but not every app fills it. Apps built with Apple’s latest tools stretch to the full display and follow you as you fold. Older apps stay in an iPhone-sized window in the middle of the inner display, with empty space around them.3 Apple’s own apps are already updated, and so are Netflix, Zoom and Slack.1
